Chemport Europe

Chemport Europe is the name of the innovative ecosystem for chemistry and green raw materials in the Northern Netherlands. Companies, governments and knowledge organisations work together on a shared ambition: changing the nature of chemistry. Chemport Europe is an excellent location for an integrated approach to bio-refining, green chemistry and green energy. It is the ideal environment for your full-scale factory, pilot plant or research facility.

Chemport Europe offers a dynamic ecosystem for companies dedicated to a green chemical sector. The chemical cluster in Delfzijl is one of the locations covered by Chemport Europe. Located on the Eems, Chemical Cluster Delfzijl has direct access to the North Sea. The chemical cluster in Delfzijl is also easily and quickly accessible by road, rail and inland waterway. The region also owes its strong position to its rural surroundings, the presence of two seaports and relevant knowledge institutions with a Nobel prize winner for chemistry in 2017. The production and landing of a large quantity of green energy and green raw materials are all integrated in this chemical cluster.

Chemport Europe focuses on the chemical and energy sectors, ports, knowledge institutes and the agricultural area. Chemport Europe was founded by: the Province of Groningen, the Province of Drenthe, Groningen Seaports NV, the Municipality of Delfzijl (now Eemsdelta), the Municipality of Het Hogeland, the Municipality of Emmen, Economic Board Groningen, Noordelijke Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen University and Stenden University of Applied Sciences.
